FRAMEXPRESS CHANGES THE CHAPEL
Leading Midlands fabricator, FrameXpress Ltd, has recently supplied all the replacement products for a unique development based in Telford. The project required a number of tailored solutions that would satisfy the requirements of Orchid Homes, a building company with a long established reputation for building quality properties and unusual conversions.
This particular project worth in excess of £20,000 involved the redevelopment of St George’s Wesleyan chapel, which needed complete internal demolition. Purchased from Wrekin Council, the outer appearance of the chapel was maintained whilst the interior was converted into 8 private luxury apartments, consisting of one, 3 bedroom, one 4 bedroom and six, 2 bedroom residences.
This unique development also required extending which meant all aspects had to match the original character and features of the building. Unusual aspects for consideration by FrameXpress was the need to produce arched windows as well as two large windows in black glass that had to cover the full height of the building. The black glass was needed to mask different internal floor levels. Additionally the company produced special profiles for a number of diamond shaped windows in the chapel as well as 4 external doors and frames that provided disabled access.
Working on such a bespoke installation meant it was vital for the FrameXpress team to manufacture products accurately and to ensure that delivery was prompt and reliable.
