NEW OPERATIONS MANAGER INTRODUCES A CLEAN SWEEP AT frameXpress
Since his recent appointment at frameXpress as Operations Manager, Vince Shayler has made a dramatic impact in respect of re-structuring procedures by streamlining production methods, increasing efficiency and introducing new ‘clean’ waste management systems.
frameXpress is a leading fabricator based in Telford and over the last 18 months there have been a number of expansion programmes implemented in order to keep up with the increase in demand.
In addition to rationalising manufacturing procedures, Vince has evaluated all departments including security and waste management. With environmental issues becoming increasingly important he has introduced a ‘clean sweep’ element to production with the purchase of a new recycling Baler that compacts waste and helps to reduce waste disposal costs.
Currently frameXpress employs over 53 people producing on average 600 frames per week together with over 1500 doubled glazed units per week. Operating from the company’s premises in Halesfield the premises now encompass over 25,000 sq. ft. Recent sales figures show an 12 % increase in turnover which now exceeds over £6 million.
Vince Shayler joined the company with vast experience as a Production Manager and has an enthusiastic approach in helping to further establish the products and services available from frameXpress. He is also responsible for handling new projects as they arise which so far have included the complete re-organisation of one production unit with the installation of further machinery and new made for purpose work stations.
Despatch has also been evaluated and overhauled with a new moveable storage racking system installed and a Quarantine Area and Customer Collection point introduced into the unit.
Other production areas are due to be renovated and further improved over the coming months to ensure that production is optimised.
On his new role Vince Shayler comments, “Quality and efficiency are core elements to the corporate philosophy here and developing strong, ongoing business relations with customers are the distinguishing qualities that set frameXpress apart from competitors. This is clearly demonstrated by the increasing sales figures which obviously required that production moved up a gear to accommodate the demand.”
Mark Westbrook, Director frameXpress comments, “As the company continues to grow and diversify, it is vital to ensure that a strong, unified team develops to maintain the qualities for which frameXpress is recognised. Vince is an invaluable part of our team and has made great headway in our development programme.”
