Energy Efficiency

We have a wide range of accreditations to ensure every product is to the highest quality.

Energy Efficiency

Today, many homeowners are aware that their houses can become much more cost effective to run with reduced energy bills by installing energy efficient windows, doors and conservatories.

At frameXpress we use only the best products to achieve the highest quality standards across our range.

This gives our customers many advantages for all sized installation projects. Our Energy Efficient accreditations are industry regulated and have been achieved after rigorous product testing.

Energy Efficient 'A' Rated Windows

The Profile 22 Systems we use offer unprecedented performance values. This enables us to provide energy rated windows and doors ranging from A+ to C as necessary and when specified by architects, designers and local authorities.

We manufacture A rated windows as standard but also have a variety of performance options available including triple glazing if required.

The profile we use is manufactured under an ISO14001 Registered Environmental Management System Award.

A+ Window Energy Rating (WER) and U-Values

We have the accreditations combined with state of the art facilities to manufacture the highest specification performance windows in the industry. This includes triple glazing which can be stipulated by some specifiers. The Optima profile can achieve U-values as low as 1.0 W/(m²-K) with triple glazing.

Excellent Thermal Efficiency

Only the very latest profile technology is used in the Optima range with multiple size-optimised chambers that lock in heat and eradicate convection currents. This is achieved with the use of advanced gaskets which retain their properties and do not shrink or warp during weather extremes.

Energy Saving Trust Recommended

Our entire portfolio has been rigorously tested by the Energy Saving Trust and as such we are a certified manufacturer with our range endorsed to use the “recommended” logo.

Recycling Commitment

Framexpress has long since made bold moves regarding the introduction energy efficient products and recycling methods at the Telford based headquarters. The broad range of low maintenance windows and doors are manufactured using recycled composite material (RCM) reinforcement.

RCM reinforcements incorporate recycled material which replace steel and aluminium sections in window fabrication.

We are committed to be corporately and socially responsible in our manufacturing methods and part of our environmental policy is to produce a range of sustainable, low-carbon, recyclable products making the portfolio truly environmentally friendly.

When manufactured in accordance with BS EN 12608 upvc can last in excess of 40 years according to the BSI.

The profile we use is manufactured under an ISO14001 Registered Environmental Management System Award.

Lead free products

All our frames have been manufactured using materials that are completely lead free, which is not only better for the environment but also ensures that our upvc products are totally recyclable.

Aluminium is a light weight, high strength material that is used across the modern construction industry from patio doors in homes to curtain walling on the tallest sky scrapers. Due to its malleability it can be bent or shaped into innumerable architectural designs. Aluminium is highly durable and extremely resistant to corrosion caused by modern industrial pollutants, requiring little long term maintenance. The lifespan of aluminium products is measured in decades rather than years.

Guaranteed Quality – We offer complete peace of mind in that our aluminium systems are compatible with a choice of enhanced multipoint locking mechanisms including shoot-bolt locks and locking handles that are available as standard. The aluminium system we use holds the Kitemark Licence No. KM 81580 in respect of BS7950/4873 regarding enhanced security performance of casement and tilt/turn windows for domestic applications. Furthermore as a window system it was one of the first aluminium windows in the UK to hold BSI Kitemark BS 7950.

PAS 24 is an enhanced security performance test for door assembly requirements. To achieve this standard a door set is subjected to a series of tests, which include:

  • Wind and water tightness
  • Cycle testing

Every component used within the door set must be tested and must comply with the relevant British Standard for that specific part.

PAS 24 also covers additional security tests, including:

  • Manual intervention
  • Mechanical loading
  • Hard and soft body impact

An example of the intensity of the testing, the mechanical loading tests subjects the door set to 4.5Kn of pressure, the equivalent of approximately 45 times the pressure used to tighten a car wheel nut.
